I wrote a Curriculum Design that is a Higher Order Intellectual Quality, i intentionally omitted the application of technology in this design for the reason that, in most third world countries such as the Philippines, application of Education 2.0 or Internet and other tech application to learning is not yet accessible to many areas.
The absence of this Education 2.0 capabilities does not however prevents us from creating a 21st Century Curriculum Design. Take note that technology is just there to assist us in teaching or learning but it is not substitute to the theories and concepts of learning that we need to consider in designing a 21st Century Curriculum.
In this design, you will see that the lesson is not limited to what the textbook has provided, the Learning Tasks provided are taken from the REAL WORLD experiences or situations.
I have presented in my previous post the underlying reasons why we should be designing this kind of curriculum. As stated in the GOAL of what a 21st Century Learner/Citizen Should be.
We should not just focus on having the learners understand the topic, in English, Geometry or Statistics but use the subject as a jumping board to relate social events to the learners and allow them to collaborate with one another to help or contribute in solving the problem. That is the foremost goal of the NCBTS, as stated in its first Domain, that learners should acquire that SOCIAL REGARD FOR LEARNING.
I have presented an ANALYSIS on the Curriculum Design I constructed, i hope it will help you understand and guide you in constructing your own curriculum Design. By the way, this design does not prevent you from designing similar curriculum even in the absence of Technology (equipments or internet) , or perhaps in worst case lack of books especially in the rural areas.
You really have to be patient in reading, because other than reading there is no other way for you to understand the Topic. Podcasting is still out of my reach. 🙂
This is originally a document in Microsoft Word Format. I prefer reading in this kind of format 🙂
But I also used the PowerPoint Presentation in case you find it not appealing to your reading style.
